About the Stock SIP Calculator
What is the Stock SIP Calculator?
A stock SIP builds wealth by investing every month in shares or equity funds. Raising the SIP each year as your income grows – a step-up – makes a large difference over time.
The calculator also estimates long-term capital gains tax at 12.5% on gains above ₹1.25 lakh, assuming you sell everything in one year.
How to use the Stock SIP Calculator
- Monthly SIP (₹) (sample: 10,000)
- Expected Return (% per year) (sample: 12)
- Years (sample: 10)
- Yearly Step-Up in SIP (%) (sample: 10)
- Press Project Stock SIP (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Estimated SIP Value, along with Total invested, Wealth gained, LTCG tax if all sold in one year (12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh) and Value after tax.
Formula used
Value grows monthly: V = (V + SIP) × (1 + r); SIP rises by the step-up % each year
- LTCG = 12.5% on gains above ₹1.25 lakh a year (plus cess)
Redeeming over several years uses the ₹1.25 lakh exemption each year.
