About the Crypto Profit Loss Calculator
What is the Crypto Profit Loss Calculator?
This crypto profit calculator shows what a trade actually earns you in India. It works out the gross gain, deducts exchange fees, then applies the 30% tax plus 4% cess on crypto gains.
Remember that fees are not deductible for tax: the 30% applies to the sale price minus the purchase cost only.
How to use the Crypto Profit Loss Calculator
- Buy Price per Coin (₹) (sample: 50,00,000)
- Sell Price per Coin (₹) (sample: 58,00,000)
- Quantity (coins) (sample: 0.05)
- Buy Fee (%) (sample: 0.2)
- Sell Fee (%) (sample: 0.2)
- Press Calculate Crypto Profit (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Profit After Tax, along with Gross profit / loss, Return before tax, Trading fees and Tax at 30% + cess (fees not deductible).
Formula used
Profit after tax = (Sell − Buy) × Quantity − Fees − 31.2% × Gain
- 31.2% = 30% tax + 4% cess
- TDS = 1% of the sale value, credited against your tax
Crypto losses cannot be set off against any other income or carried forward.
