Sample inputs are pre-filled so you can see a result quickly. Results are estimates only and may not be accurate because prices, interest rates, taxes, fees, fuel costs, tariffs, market returns, medical costs, and local rules can change. Please verify current values before making financial, tax, legal, medical, or business decisions.

Formula used

RSI = 100 − 100 ÷ (1 + Average gain ÷ Average loss); MACD = EMA₁₂ − EMA₂₆

  • Signal line = 9-period EMA of MACD
  • Histogram = MACD − signal

About the RSI MACD Simulator

What is the RSI MACD Simulator?

This RSI and MACD calculator computes the two most popular momentum indicators from a list of closing prices – the same way charting platforms do.

RSI uses Wilder's 14-period smoothing; MACD is the 12-period EMA minus the 26-period EMA, with a 9-period EMA signal line.

How to use the RSI MACD Simulator

  1. Closing Prices, Oldest First (at least 35, separated by commas) — closing prices, oldest first, separated by commas – at least 35 values. (sample: 100, 101.2, 102.5, 101.8, 103.1, 104.0, 103.2, 104.8, 106.1, 105.4, 106.9, 108.2, 107.5, 108.9, 110.3, 109.6, 111.0, 112.4, 111.7, 113.1, 112.0, 113.6, 115.0, 114.2, 115.8, 117.1, 116.3, 117.9, 119.2, 118.4, 119.8, 121.1, 120.2, 121.7, 123.0, 122.1, 123.5, 124.6, 123.8, 125.2)
  2. Press Calculate RSI & MACD (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the RSI (14), along with RSI reading, MACD line (12, 26), Signal line (9) and Histogram.

Formula used

RSI = 100 − 100 ÷ (1 + Average gain ÷ Average loss); MACD = EMA₁₂ − EMA₂₆

  • Signal line = 9-period EMA of MACD
  • Histogram = MACD − signal

Needs at least 35 closing prices; more data gives more stable values.

Tips for using the RSI MACD Simulator

  • RSI above 70 or below 30 signals stretched moves, not automatic reversals.
  • MACD crossovers work best in trending markets.

Frequently asked questions

Many traders watch for RSI below 30 (oversold) turning up, ideally in an uptrend.

MACD crossing above its signal line is a bullish momentum signal; below is bearish.

They are useful filters but generate false signals; combine them with trend and risk management.
