About the Pip Calculator
What is the Pip Calculator?
A pip is the smallest standard price move in a currency pair. This pip value calculator shows what one pip (or tick) is worth in rupees for your position size.
On NSE, rupee pairs move in ticks of ₹0.0025, so one USD-INR contract of USD 1,000 gains or loses ₹2.50 per tick.
How to use the Pip Calculator
- Currency Pair (sample: USD-INR (NSE, tick ₹0.0025))
- Position Size in Base Currency Units (sample: 1,000)
- Current USD-JPY Rate (for JPY conversion) (sample: 150)
- USD-INR Rate (sample: 88)
- Press Calculate Pip Value (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Value of One Pip / Tick in ₹, along with Pip / tick size, Value in the quote currency (INR), Value of a 10-pip move and Legal note.
Formula used
Pip value = Pip size × Position size × Quote-currency rate in ₹
- Pip size = 0.0025 for INR pairs on NSE; 0.0001 for EUR-USD; 0.01 for USD-JPY
JPY-INR is quoted per 100 yen.
