About the Loan Tenure Tracker
What is the Loan Tenure Tracker?
This loan tenure tracker shows where you are in your home, car or personal loan: how many EMIs are done, how much principal is left and how much interest remains.
It is useful when deciding whether to prepay or balance-transfer.
How to use the Loan Tenure Tracker
- Loan Amount (₹) (sample: 30,00,000)
- Interest Rate (% a year) (sample: 8.5)
- Tenure (months) (sample: 240)
- First EMI Date (sample: 5 May 2022)
- Progress As Of (sample: 23 Oct 2026)
- Press Track Loan Progress (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Outstanding Principal, along with Monthly EMI, EMIs paid, EMIs remaining and Tenure completed.
Formula used
Balance after k EMIs = P(1 + r)ᵏ − EMI × [(1 + r)ᵏ − 1] ÷ r
- P = loan amount
- r = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100
- k = EMIs paid
