About the Brokerage Calculator

What is the Brokerage Calculator?

Brokerage is only one of seven charges on an Indian stock trade. This brokerage calculator adds them all up for delivery, intraday, futures and options, using the rates in force since 1 October 2024.

It uses the common discount-broker model – ₹20 or 0.03% per order, whichever is lower, for intraday and futures, and ₹20 per order for options – and lets you set delivery brokerage.

How to use the Brokerage Calculator

  1. Segment (sample: Equity intraday)
  2. Buy Price (₹) (sample: 1,000)
  3. Sell Price (₹) (sample: 1,010)
  4. Quantity (sample: 100)
  5. Delivery Brokerage per Order (₹) (sample: 0)
  6. DP Charge per Delivery Sell (₹ incl. GST) (sample: 15)
  7. Press Calculate Brokerage & Charges (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Net Profit / Loss, along with Gross profit / loss, Total charges, Charges as % of turnover and Points to break even.

Formula used

Total charges = Brokerage + STT + Exchange charges + SEBI fee + Stamp duty + GST + DP charges

  • GST = 18% on brokerage, exchange charges and SEBI fee
  • DP charges = on each delivery sell, per scrip per day

Brokerage plans differ between brokers – check your broker's rate card.
