About the Variable Pay Impact Calculator
What is the Variable Pay Impact Calculator?
Variable pay is included in CTC but paid only if company and individual targets are met. This calculator shows what you actually earn at your expected payout percentage.
It also shows fixed monthly in-hand and how much of the variable pay you keep after tax.
How to use the Variable Pay Impact Calculator
- Annual CTC (₹) (sample: 15,00,000)
- Variable Pay (% of CTC) (sample: 15)
- Expected Payout (%) (sample: 80)
- Basic Pay (% of fixed CTC) (sample: 40)
- Tax Regime (sample: New regime (default))
- Press Calculate Variable Pay Impact (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Actual Annual Pay, along with Target variable pay, Expected variable payout, Shortfall against CTC and Monthly in-hand (fixed pay).
Formula used
Actual pay = CTC − Variable target + Variable target × Payout %
- Shortfall = variable target × (1 − payout %)
Variable pay is taxed at your marginal rate when paid.
