About the State-wise GST Rate Calculator
What is the State-wise GST Rate Calculator?
GST rates are the same across India, but how the tax is split depends on where the supply takes place. This state wise gst calculator applies the place-of-supply rule.
Intra-state supplies pay CGST plus SGST (or UTGST); inter-state supplies pay IGST.
How to use the State-wise GST Rate Calculator
- Amount (₹) (sample: 1,00,000)
- Amount Is (sample: Before GST)
- GST Rate (sample: 18% (standard rate))
- Supplier's State (sample: Maharashtra)
- Place of Supply (Buyer's State) (sample: Karnataka)
- Press Calculate GST Split (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Total GST, along with Supply type, Taxable value, CGST and SGST.
Formula used
GST = Taxable value × Rate; Intra-state: CGST = SGST = GST ÷ 2; Inter-state: IGST = GST
- Rates (GST 2.0, from 22 Sep 2025) = 0%, 5%, 18% and 40%, plus 3% for gold and 0.25% for rough diamonds

Chandigarh, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu charge UTGST instead of SGST.
Tips for using the State-wise GST Rate Calculator
- For services, the place of supply is usually the registered buyer's location.
- Charging CGST+SGST instead of IGST (or vice versa) means paying again and claiming a refund – get it right on the invoice.
