About the Salary Hike Calculator
What is the Salary Hike Calculator?
This salary hike calculator works both ways: enter a hike percentage to get your new salary, or enter your old and new salary to find the percentage increase.
It also shows the real hike after inflation – the true increase in your buying power.
How to use the Salary Hike Calculator
- Calculate (sample: New salary from a hike %)
- Current Annual Salary (₹) (sample: 9,00,000)
- Hike (%) (sample: 10)
- New Annual Salary (₹) (sample: 10,00,000)
- Inflation (%) (sample: 6)
- Press Calculate Hike (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Result, along with New salary, Hike percentage, Increase per year and Increase per month.
Formula used
New salary = Current × (1 + Hike %); Hike % = (New ÷ Old − 1) × 100
- Real hike = (1 + hike) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1
A hike below inflation is effectively a pay cut.
