About the Resale Profit Calculator

What is the Resale Profit Calculator?

The difference between the purchase and sale price overstates your gain. This resale profit calculator subtracts stamp duty and registration, renovation costs, brokerage and capital gains tax to show what you actually made.

For long-term gains on property bought before 23 July 2024, it applies the lower of 12.5% or 20% with indexation, and it gives the annualised return after tax.

How to use the Resale Profit Calculator

  1. Purchase Price (₹) (sample: 60,00,000)
  2. Stamp Duty & Registration Paid (₹) (sample: 4,20,000)
  3. Renovation / Improvements (₹) (sample: 3,00,000)
  4. Sale Price (₹) (sample: 90,00,000)
  5. Brokerage on Sale (%) (sample: 1)
  6. Holding Period (months) (sample: 60)
  7. Financial Year of Purchase (sample: 2020-21)
  8. Your Income Tax Slab Rate (sample: 30%)
