About the Registration Fee Calculator
What is the Registration Fee Calculator?
Every property sale deed must be registered with the sub-registrar, and states charge a registration fee on top of stamp duty – commonly 1% of the property value, with some states capping it.
Choose your state and the buyer type to see the registration fee, the stamp duty and the combined amount, based on the higher of the agreement value and the circle rate.
How to use the Registration Fee Calculator
- Property Value (₹, agreement or circle rate, whichever is higher) (sample: 80,00,000)
- State / City (sample: Maharashtra – Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nagpur (incl. 1% metro cess))
- Buyer (sample: Man)
- Custom Stamp Duty Rate (% – for “Other state”) (sample: 6)
- Custom Registration Fee (% – for “Other state”) (sample: 1)
- Press Calculate Registration Charges (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Registration Fee, along with Stamp duty (for reference), Registration + stamp duty and Registration as % of value.
Formula used
Registration fee = Property value × State registration rate (subject to any cap)
- Property value = agreement value or circle rate, whichever is higher
Maharashtra caps registration at ₹30,000; many other states charge a flat 1% without a cap.
