What is the Plot Area Calculator?
Plots are rarely perfect rectangles, and different states use different local units. This plot area calculator handles common shapes and gives the result in every unit you are likely to need.
For an irregular four-sided plot, measure all four sides and one diagonal; the calculator splits the plot into two triangles and uses Heron's formula for each.

Formula used
Triangle area = √(s(s − a)(s − b)(s − c)), where s = (a + b + c) ÷ 2
- Rectangle = length × width
- Trapezoid = (a + b) ÷ 2 × depth
- Units = 1 gaj = 9 sq ft; 1 cent = 435.6 sq ft; 1 guntha = 1,089 sq ft; 1 acre = 43,560 sq ft
Local units such as bigha and kanal vary by state, so check the local standard.
