About the PF Contribution Calculator
What is the PF Contribution Calculator?
Both you and your employer contribute 12% of basic + DA to the Employees' Provident Fund. But the employer's share is split: 8.33% of up to ₹15,000 (a maximum of ₹1,250) goes to the pension scheme (EPS), and the rest to your EPF account.
This PF contribution calculator shows the monthly split and projects your EPF balance with salary growth and interest.
How to use the PF Contribution Calculator
- Monthly Basic + DA (₹) (sample: 50,000)
- Contribution Basis (sample: 12% of actual basic + DA)
- Years to Project (sample: 20)
- Yearly Salary Growth (%) (sample: 6)
- EPF Interest Rate (%) (sample: 8.25)
- Press Calculate PF Contribution (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Monthly Credit to Your EPF Account, along with Employee contribution (12%), Employer share to EPF, Employer share to EPS (pension) and EDLI insurance (paid by employer).
Formula used
EPF credit = 12% × wages (employee) + [12% × wages − EPS] (employer)
- EPS = 8.33% of wages up to ₹15,000 = at most ₹1,250 a month
- EDLI = 0.5% of wages up to ₹15,000, paid by the employer
EPF interest was 8.25% for FY 2024-25; it is declared each year.
