About the Notice Pay Calculator
What is the Notice Pay Calculator?
If you leave without serving your full notice period, your employer may recover notice pay for the shortfall – or you may choose to buy out the notice. This calculator works out the amount.
Enter the salary your contract uses (basic or gross), the notice required, days already served and any leave adjusted.
How to use the Notice Pay Calculator

- Notice Period Required (days) (sample: 60)
- Days Already Served (sample: 30)
- Earned Leave Adjusted Against Notice (days) (sample: 0)
- Daily Rate Basis (sample: Monthly ÷ 30)
- Press Calculate Notice Pay (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Notice Pay Recovery, along with Shortfall in notice, Daily rate, Full notice buyout and Tip.
Formula used
Recovery = (Notice days − Days served − Leave adjusted) × Monthly salary ÷ 30
