Sample inputs are pre-filled so you can see a result quickly. Formula used

Duty = BCD + SWS + IGST; IGST = (Assessable value + BCD + SWS) × IGST %

  • Assessable value = (FOB + freight + insurance) × customs exchange rate
  • Insurance = 1.125% of FOB when the actual amount is not known
  • SWS = 10% of BCD, unless exempt

About the Import Export Duty Calculator

What is the Import Export Duty Calculator?

Customs import duty is charged on the assessable value – the CIF value (cost, insurance and freight) converted to rupees at the exchange rate notified by CBIC. Basic customs duty (BCD) applies first, then a 10% social welfare surcharge on the BCD, then IGST on the total.

Enter the FOB value in the invoice currency, freight, insurance and the rates for your product's tariff heading.

How to use the Import Export Duty Calculator

  1. FOB Value (in the invoice currency) (sample: 20,000)
  2. Freight (in the invoice currency) (sample: 1,500)

  4. Customs Exchange Rate (₹ per unit of currency) (sample: 88)
  5. Basic Customs Duty (%) (sample: 10)
  6. Social Welfare Surcharge (sample: Yes – 10% of BCD)
