About the Net Margin Calculator
What is the Net Margin Calculator?
Net profit margin is the share of revenue left after every expense – cost of goods, operating costs, depreciation, interest and tax. It is the truest single measure of how profitable a business is.
This calculator builds the profit ladder from revenue down to net profit and shows the gross, operating (EBIT) and net margins at each step.
How to use the Net Margin Calculator
- Revenue (₹) (sample: 1,00,00,000)
- Cost of Goods Sold (₹) (sample: 55,00,000)
- Operating Expenses – salaries, rent, marketing (₹) (sample: 25,00,000)
- Depreciation & Amortisation (₹) (sample: 3,00,000)
- Interest Expense (₹) (sample: 2,00,000)
- Income Tax Rate (%) (sample: 25.17)
- Press Calculate Net Margin (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Net Profit Margin, along with Net profit, Gross margin, Operating (EBIT) margin and Profit before tax.
Formula used
Net margin = Net profit ÷ Revenue × 100
- EBIT = revenue − COGS − operating expenses − depreciation
- Net profit = (EBIT − interest) × (1 − tax rate)
Domestic companies choosing Section 115BAA pay 25.17% tax including surcharge and cess.
