About the DA Calculator
What is the DA Calculator?
Dearness allowance (DA) protects government employees' and pensioners' pay against inflation. It is a percentage of basic pay, revised twice a year – from January and July – based on the consumer price index.
Enter your basic pay and the DA rate to see your monthly and yearly DA and the gain from the next revision.
How to use the DA Calculator
- Monthly Basic Pay (₹) (sample: 56,100)
- DA Rate (%) (sample: 58)
- Next DA Rate for Comparison (%) (sample: 60)
- Press Calculate DA (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Monthly Dearness Allowance, along with Annual DA, Basic + DA per month, Monthly increase at the next rate and Yearly increase at the next rate.
Formula used
DA = Basic pay × DA rate %
- Basic + DA = the base for NPS contributions and many allowances
Pensioners receive the same percentage as dearness relief (DR) on their basic pension.
