About the Target Date Calorie Deficit Calculator
What is the Target Date Calorie Deficit Calculator?
Have a wedding, holiday or event coming up? This calculator works backwards from your goal weight by date: it spreads the required change over the weeks available and gives the daily calorie target.
It flags plans that need more than 1% of body weight a week or drop below safe minimum calories, so you can adjust the deadline or goal.
How to use the Target Date Calorie Deficit Calculator
- Sex (sample: Male)
- Weight (kg) (sample: 80)
- Height (cm) (sample: 172)
- Age (years) (sample: 32)
- Activity Level (sample: Lightly active – exercise 1–3 days a week (×1.375))
- Target Weight (kg) (sample: 74)
- Weeks until Your Target Date (sample: 12)
- Press Calculate Deficit for My Deadline (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Daily Calorie Target, along with Daily deficit needed, Maintenance calories, Change per week and Feasibility.
Formula used
Daily deficit = (Current weight − Goal weight) × 7,700 ÷ (Weeks × 7)
- Calorie target = maintenance calories − daily deficit
If your goal is higher than your current weight, the result is a daily surplus instead.
