About the Sukanya Samriddhi Calculator
What is the Sukanya Samriddhi Calculator?
Sukanya Samriddhi is designed for long-term goals for a daughter, such as higher education and marriage. Because the account runs for 21 years and compounds at a government-set rate, even modest yearly deposits grow into a substantial, tax-free corpus.
Enter how much you can deposit each year, your daughter's current age (under 10) and the current rate. The table shows the balance through the years and the Sukanya Samriddhi maturity value when the account closes, 21 years after opening.
How to use the Sukanya Samriddhi Calculator
- Yearly Deposit (₹250 – ₹1,50,000) — between ₹250 and ₹1.5 lakh in each financial year. (sample: 1,50,000)
- Girl's Age When the Account Is Opened (sample: 5)
- Interest Rate (% per year) (sample: 8.2)
- Press Calculate SSY Maturity (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Maturity Value, along with Total deposited (15 years), Interest earned (tax-free), Girl's age at maturity and Maturity multiple.
Formula used
Maturity = Σ D × (1 + r)^(22 − k), for deposits in years k = 1 to 15
- D = the yearly deposit
- r = the annual interest rate (8.2% for Q2 FY 2025-26)
A deposit made in year k earns interest for 22 − k years, because the account matures at the end of year 21.
