About the Rebalancing Tool
What is the Rebalancing Tool?
Over time, the assets that do well grow into a larger share of your portfolio, quietly increasing your risk. Rebalancing restores your target mix by trimming what has grown and adding to what has lagged — a disciplined way to “buy low and sell high”.
Enter the current value of your equity, debt and gold holdings and your target percentages. This portfolio rebalancing calculator shows your current weights and the exact amount to buy or sell in each asset.
How to use the Rebalancing Tool
- Equity Value (INR) (sample: 8,00,000)
- Debt Value (INR) (sample: 4,00,000)
- Gold Value (INR) (sample: 2,00,000)
- Target Equity (%) (sample: 50)
- Target Debt (%) (sample: 30)
- Target Gold (%) (sample: 20)
- Press Plan Rebalance (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Net Rebalance, along with Portfolio Value, Largest Shift and Assets Reviewed.
Formula used
Trade = Portfolio value × Target weight − Current value
- Positive trade = amount to buy
- Negative trade = amount to sell
Target weights are normalised to add up to 100%. The net rebalance is the total amount that has to move between assets.
