About the GST Input Credit Calculator
What is the GST Input Credit Calculator?
Input tax credit (ITC) is the GST you paid on business purchases, which you can deduct from the GST you collect on sales. It is what makes GST a tax on value added rather than a tax on tax.
Enter the output GST collected on your sales and the eligible input credit for the same period. The calculator shows the net GST you must pay in cash through GSTR-3B.
How to use the GST Input Credit Calculator
- Output GST (INR) (sample: 54,000)
- Eligible Input Credit (INR) (sample: 18,000)
- Press Calculate Net GST (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Net GST Payable, along with Output GST, Input Credit and Net Payable.
Formula used
Net GST payable = Output GST − Eligible input tax credit
- Output GST = GST charged on your taxable sales
- Eligible ITC = GST on business purchases that appear in your GSTR-2B
If ITC exceeds output GST, the excess is carried forward to the next period.
