About the Currency Converter
What is the Currency Converter?
Banks and card networks rarely give you the mid-market rate. This currency converter applies your rate and a markup to show what you actually receive.
Enter today's rate from a live source; the calculator does not fetch rates itself.
How to use the Currency Converter
- Amount (sample: 1,000)
- From Currency Code (sample: USD)
- To Currency Code (sample: INR)
- Exchange Rate (1 unit of "from" = ? "to") (sample: 88)
- Bank / Card Markup (%) (sample: 2)
- Press Convert Currency (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Amount You Receive, along with At the mid-market rate, Cost of the markup, Effective rate and Inverse rate.
Formula used
Received = Amount × Rate × (1 − Markup %)
- Rate = units of the target currency per unit of the source
- Markup = the spread your bank or card adds

- Always choose to be charged in the local currency – dynamic currency conversion adds a hidden markup.
