About the Advance Tax Calculator
What is the Advance Tax Calculator?
Advance tax means paying income tax during the year as you earn, instead of in one go after it ends. It applies when your tax liability after TDS exceeds ₹10,000 — common for freelancers, business owners, investors and people with large rent or interest income.
Enter your estimated tax for the year (after TDS). This advance tax calculator shows the cumulative amounts you must have paid by each due date. Missing them leads to interest under Sections 234B and 234C.
How to use the Advance Tax Calculator
- Estimated Annual Tax (INR) (sample: 1,20,000)
- Press Estimate Advance Tax (results also refresh as you type). The result card shows the Advance Tax Estimate, along with June Target, September Target and December Target.
Formula used
Cumulative advance tax by date = Estimated tax × 15% / 45% / 75% / 100%
- Due dates = 15 June, 15 September, 15 December and 15 March
Presumptive taxpayers under 44AD/44ADA can pay 100% by 15 March. Resident seniors with no business income are exempt.
